‘I Need Tissues’: Lydia Ko Left Weeping as Older Sister Sura Does What LPGA’s Biggest Names Failed

Lydia Ko’s success on the golf course is deeply rooted in her unwavering bond with her older sister, Sura Ko. As Lydia’s manager and confidante, Sura provides guidance and support, nurturing her younger sister’s talent. Their sisterly love is built on trust, understanding, and mutual encouragement.

 

 

Their love was fully on display in the latest YouTube video by Golf Channel where they showed a wholesome video of her sister congratulating her on the latest feat.

 

 

Lydia Ko’s induction into the LPGA Hall of Fame was met with heartfelt congratulations from her loved ones. Her sister’s video message left her emotional, saying, “Hey sweetie, congrats getting into LPGA Hall of Fame. I know you worked so hard, and you’re the most deserving person to get this.” She continued, “Congrats once again, and we’re gonna have a fantastic journey together for the next career. Love you so much.”

The touching tribute moved Ko to tears, prompting her to admit, “I need tissues.” As she reflected on her journey, Ko expressed gratitude for the special relationships formed along the way. “My sister was the final point,” she said. The accolades didn’t stop there. Golf icons Pat Bradley and Meg Mallon, LPGA Commissioner Mike Whan, and fellow players Mollie Marcoux Samaan and Danielle Kang also honored Ko’s achievement.

 

 

She noted, “They’ve always been so supportive and I know that.” She recognized the pioneers who paved the way for her success, stating, “The tour wouldn’t be without our founders and without the pioneers like them.” Ko concluded, “Golf, the results, the 22 wins, the medals, they’re great, but these kinds of relationships are things that are gonna be with me forever. I’m very thankful.”
