Kim Kardashian is leaning on loved ones after taking a stand in court.Days after the Kardashians star testified about the events of her 2016 Paris Robbery, in which a group of men stole over $10 million worth of jewelry, she spent time in the French city with pal Simone Harouche, who also testified during the trial.
Indeed, Kim filled her May 14 Instagram Story with pictures from a lunch outing in the City of Lights with her childhood BFF. In the pic, Kim, 44, and Simone, 45, flash small smiles for the camera. Keeping the caption simple, the SKIMS founder simply added a white heart emoji. Kim also reposted a slide from fashion communications executive Youssef Marquis which he snapped from across the table during the same lunch outing, putting her cream wrapped dress—adorned with ostrich feathers—and baseball cap combo on display.
The lunch outing came one day after Kim and Simone, an interior designer and former stylist, both took the stand to recall the chilling events of Oct. 3, 2016.Simone, who was sleeping on the first floor of the duplex inside of the No Address hotel when she was woken up by the sound of Kim’s voice pleading with the men who held her at gunpoint.
“We’ve been friends since we were little girls,” the stylist explained in court on May 13, per NBC News. “So, when I heard this sound, it was very different, and it woke me up, because it was a sound that I had never heard from Kim. It was terror.”
Simone continued, “What I heard specifically was, ‘I have babies and I need to live. Take everything I need to live.’” “She was beside herself, I’ve never seen her like that before,” Simone noted in her testimony, per Reuters. “She just was screaming and kept saying we need to get out of here, we need help, what are we going to do if they come back.”

During her testimony, Simone shared that the robbery left her “very fearful,” and as a result, she’s been to therapy for post-traumatic stress and remains sensitive to loud noises.
Hours later, Kim—supported by mom Kris Jenner in court—took the stand to deliver her own testimony. The SKIMS mogul—who wore a statement $1.5 million necklace—emotionally recounted how that evening in 2016 changed her perspective about the city she once enjoyed visiting.”I came to Paris for Fashion Week, and Paris is always a place that I love so much,” Kim told the court, per BBC. “I always felt really safe…I’d stop in little hotels for hot chocolate, it was magical. But when I came for Fashion Week during that trip, it changed everything.”
After standing to testify for five hours, a statement from one of the defendants Aomar Ait Khedache, written after his 2017 arrest, was read out loud where he apologized for the emotional trauma the incident caused. Kim addressed the defendant directly and offered forgiveness saying, per NBC News, “I do appreciate the letter, I forgive you for what has taken place, but it doesn’t change the emotion and the feelings and the trauma the way my life is forever changed.”
